Refund Policy

1. Introduction

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which LLGHTER Driving Academy will provide refunds for our driving instruction services. We strive to maintain fairness and transparency in all our business dealings.

By booking lessons or purchasing any service from LLGHTER Driving Academy, you agree to comply with and be bound by this Refund Policy. Please read it carefully before making any payments.

2. Individual Driving Lessons

2.1 Cancellation by Student:

  • More than 48 hours' notice: Full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost.
  • Between 24-48 hours' notice: 50% refund or rescheduling subject to a $15 administrative fee.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: No refund will be issued unless in exceptional circumstances (see section 6).

2.2 Cancellation by Instructor:

  • If your instructor needs to cancel a lesson for any reason, you will be offered either a full refund or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
  • If the cancellation is made with less than 24 hours' notice by the instructor (except in emergency situations), you will be offered a 10% discount on your next lesson as compensation.

3. Lesson Packages and Block Bookings

3.1 Unused Lessons:

  • For prepaid lesson packages, unused lessons can be refunded under the following conditions:
  • Full Refund: Refund requests made within 14 days of purchase and before any lessons are taken.
  • Partial Refund: After the 14-day period or if some lessons have been taken, a refund for the remaining lessons will be provided minus a $30 administrative fee and the difference between the package rate and standard individual lesson rate for any lessons already taken.

3.2 Validity Period:

  • All lesson packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Unused lessons after this period are non-refundable but may be extended at our discretion for an additional fee.

4. Intensive Courses

4.1 Deposit Payments:

  • A non-refundable deposit (typically 20% of the total course fee) is required to secure your booking for an intensive course.
  • This deposit can be transferred to an alternative date if rescheduling is done with at least 14 days' notice before the course start date.

4.2 Full Payment Refunds:

  • More than 14 days before course start: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit.
  • 7-14 days before course start: 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit.
  • Less than 7 days before course start: No refund will be issued unless in exceptional circumstances (see section 6).

4.3 Partial Course Completion:

  • If you start an intensive course and are unable to complete it, a partial refund may be provided for unused hours at our discretion, minus the non-refundable deposit and an administrative fee.

5. Test Day Bookings

5.1 Driving Test Fees:

  • Driving test fees paid to the licensing authority through us are subject to the licensing authority's own refund policy, which we cannot override.
  • We will assist you in applying for any eligible refunds from the licensing authority.

5.2 Vehicle Hire for Test:

  • More than 72 hours' notice: Full refund for the vehicle hire portion.
  • 24-72 hours' notice: 50% refund for the vehicle hire portion.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: No refund will be issued unless in exceptional circumstances (see section 6).

6. Exceptional Circumstances

We understand that exceptional circumstances can arise. We may consider offering full or partial refunds outside our standard policy in cases of:

  • Medical Emergencies: With appropriate documentation such as a doctor's note.
  • Bereavement: In the event of a death in the immediate family.
  • Severe Weather Conditions: When weather makes driving lessons unsafe.
  • Instructor Issues: If there are significant concerns about the quality of instruction provided.

All exceptional circumstance refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are at the discretion of LLGHTER Driving Academy management.

7. Gift Vouchers and Special Offers

7.1 Gift Vouchers:

  • Gift vouchers are non-refundable once issued.
  • Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise specified.
  • Gift vouchers can be transferred to another person with prior notification to us.

7.2 Special Offers and Discounts:

  • Lessons or courses purchased under special promotional offers may have different refund terms, which will be clearly communicated at the time of purchase.
  • If specific refund terms are not stated for a special offer, our standard refund policy will apply.

8. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact us via email at refunds@llghter.my or call our customer service at (555) 123-4567.
  2. Provide your full name, contact information, details of the service purchased, and the reason for requesting a refund.
  3. Include any supporting documentation if applicable (e.g., medical certificates).
  4. We will review your request and respond within 5 business days.

9. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days of approval.
  • Refunds will be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase where possible.
  • For credit/debit card payments, please allow an additional 3-5 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your card issuer's policies.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you are not satisfied with our decision regarding a refund request, you may:

  1. Request a review of the decision by our management team.
  2. Provide any additional information or documentation that may support your case.
  3. If the dispute cannot be resolved directly, you may seek mediation through appropriate consumer protection agencies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of our services after any changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
